My Recent Makeup Haul

Hey there girls,

So I’ve began my Freelance Makeup service girls (see more here) and I wanted to add some key products to my kit.  We headed up to Dublin and made it a day out, firstly I went to Brown Thomas because I wanted to visit MAC and Laura Mercier and then went on to Inglot.  Here’s a run down of what I purchased and why I like them for my clients.

MAC Prep and Prime Fix+ €21 – This is great for prepping the skin and setting your makeup so you get 2 in 1 really.  For prepping the skin you just spray all over the face after moisturising and it adds extra hydration to the skin whilst giving an even surface to apply your makeup to.

MAC Strobe Cream (travel Size) €10 – I bought the travel size of this because a little goes a long way and you wont use it on all clients.  This is a moisturiser that brightens dull skin and illuminates it, which is crucial for that gorgeous dewy finish a lot of us love at the minute.  You can use this all over the face prior to makeup application or mixed in with your foundation depending on the level of dewiness you want.  Whilst this is marketed as a moisturiser it is largely used by makeup artists as a primer to prep the skin, which is what I love to use it for.

Inglot HD Foundation shade 71 and 76 €33 – This foundation is gorgeous!  Perfect for brides or any occasion that calls for lots of photos (no SPF, which is what causes the flash back), it has long lasting coverage, conceals discoloration and skin imperfections giving that flawless finish we all want.  It’s also Hypoallergenic which minimises the possibility of allergic reactions (big plus for sensitive clients).

Inglot YSM €20 – This foundation is a medium coverage which is buildable depending what way you apply it.  It has a demi matte finish which means it is matte but also has a glowy finish, ideal for anyone with oily skin. Also no SPF which means no white faces in photos!!

Inglot shadow pans in shades 335, 450, 312 and 46 €6 each – These shades are gorgeous 335 is a matte burnt orange and would be fab with purples or browns.  450 is their best selling cranberry shade it has a little shimmer in it but not too much and works well with pinks and purples.  312 is a lovely matte peachy pink colour perfect for a transition colour and will be gorgeous with 450 and finally 46 which is full on shimmer pinky shade perfect on the lid or the inner corner of the eye to highlight.

Inglot AMC Gel Liner in 69 €15 – I already have the black version of this gel liner and once you get used to working with it you’ll never go back, but for people who are not used to wearing liner it can be very harsh looking on the eyes.  This shade is a brown and looks great on mature clients or brides who want the definition but not the harshness of black, plus once its on it will not budge tears and all will not remove it!!!

Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Setting Powder €42 – This powder is a firm favourite, it sets your makeup without making it look cakey or settling into fine lines, it keeps oil at bay all day and blurs pores giving an even more flawless finish to your makeup.  Also it does not alter the colour of your foundation at all which is perfect, I want it to do all its greatness without changing the shade that you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Whilst it dries up oil it isn’t really matte on the skin either it gives a gorgeous radiant glow, again beautiful on brides.

Sarah xxx
